Sensitization of the 2016/2017 Postgraduate Scholarship recipients

The Board of Postgraduate Studies conducted a sensitization forum for the 2016/2017 academic year scholarship recipients at Education Building, main campus. The scholarships awarded were 142 with the University offering 137 and 5 more from the Tokyo Foundation (SASAKAWA).  

The BPS had invited all the recipients to a session for the purpose of taking them through what is required during the entire period they are on scholarship. The Director, Prof. Lydia Njenga, took the students through the common regulations for masters highlighting on the coursework, examination and supervision processes. Prof. Njenga advised the students on self-evaluation (SWOT) and to be good researchers once they are through with their studies.

The Senior Administrative Registrar, Mr. J. K. Gachunga took the students through the financial matters breaking it down on how the scholarships are awarded, how the funds are distributed and the penalties to be incurred incase the scholarship agreement is not honored.

The session was interactive as the students asked various questions which were well addressed. They were very grateful to the University and the Tokyo Foundation for granting them the scholarships and stated how they would work hard to complete their studies on time.
